About Me

Hi, I’m Sara.

I am so glad you are visiting my page and taking a moment to learn a little about me. I was born and raised here in Maine and grew up in a rural part of the state, where life often revolved around farm animals, family, and spending time outdoors. That connection to nature and slower pace has remained an important part of who I am. In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family and going on horseback rides. I have been riding horses since I was a young girl, and it is a hobby that never seems to get old.

As a busy mom and business owner, finding time for myself can be challenging, but, as I often remind my clients, self-care is an important part of the week. We cannot function at our fullest if our own cups are empty. For me, spending time around horses is one of the ways I reset, recharge, and reconnect.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Husson University in 2022. At that time, I had a strong interest in working in substance use and addiction treatment and gained valuable experience working in a residential detox setting. As graduation approached, I began to recognize how closely substance use and mental health are often connected, and how rarely one exists without the other. That realization motivated me to pursue additional education so I could support clients more fully and not be limited to substance use treatment alone.

I went on to earn my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bellevue University. During my time in graduate school, I gained valuable clinical experience working alongside a Clinical Psychologist in private practice for nearly two years. Through that experience, I developed a strong foundation in psychological assessment and evaluation, which further strengthened my understanding of complex presentations and continues to inform my work as a therapist.

I completed my master’s degree in March 2026, applied for licensure immediately after graduation, and began taking the final steps toward opening my private practice. I am currently focused on building SV Therapy and providing individualized counseling, while also continuing to grow professionally. I will be attending the University of Southern Maine to pursue doctoral training in School Psychology as part of my long-term commitment to expanding the depth and breadth of care I can offer.

As a professional who was born and raised in Maine, giving back to the communities that shaped me is deeply important to me. Serving underserved communities across Maine is a true passion of mine, and one of my long-term goals is to help expand access to thoughtful, individualized mental health care where it is most needed.
